This weekend I made some blue and brown sweets for a friend's baby shower. Pretty cookies and cupcakes to help celebrate the baby boy to come. I made sugar cookies (recipe) decorated with royal icing (how-to's HERE) and cupcakes to match. The cupcakes were chocolate cake (recipe) with vanilla cream cheese frosting (recipe) and decorated with fondant accents made by me (how-to coming...eventually).
I love the classic blue and brown color scheme, and I'll look forward to someone having a girl, so I can play with pink and brown.
These are adorable! I love the colors, and how you matched the cookies and the cupcakes without making them too matchy matchy. The fondant circles on the cupcakes are really cute!

ReplyDeleteI didn't know you knew them and when I went into the shower I knew right away taht either they had you make them or whoever made them follows your blog - the design is yours! They were super cute and the party was one where you can't say the word cute so one lady actually stood by the dessert table since EVERYONE was saying that when they saw your treats. :) Way to go! Unfortunately I didn't get to taste this time because I am trying to be really good (no sugar/no white flour).
