A Busy Start to Summer...

I didn't really intend to take this week "off" from blogging... but between the holiday weekend, resting up after the holiday weekend, my girls finishing school this week (and I'm the teacher!), swim lessons for both girls, and trying to keep clean clothes in our drawers... the week has just passed me by!

For now, here's a little peek into what my kitchen looks like on any given day... a pile of cookbooks, notes from different recipes, and a few "experiments" on the stove (which, to be fair, is not normally so clean)!   You can see the rest of my "fancy" kitchen in my post from a while back, The Glorious Truth.  I have no idea how old the stove is... it was here when we bought the house 10 years ago, and was not even close to new then!  But everything you see on this site was baked in it, so it's served me quite well!  I'm pretty sure the tile counters are original to the house, which means they were new in 1958.

Have a wonderful weekend!  I'll have some new sweets and treats for you soon!

If you're looking for some 'Glorious Treats' to hold you over, here are a few of my summer favorites...

S'mores Rice Krispies Treats
Hamburger Cupcakes
Blackberry Cobbler
Watermelon (decorated) Cookies
Strawberry Yogurt Fruit Dip
Pina Colada Cupcakes

  7. My friend used to tell me "people don't quit homeschooling because they can't teach their children. People quit homeschooling because they can't get their laundry done." I found that to be rather true. I think your amazing!

  10. No real worries or apologies or explainations. I just enjoy browsing through your post when I get a chance. I truly don't know how you and anybody else gets so much done in the baking world. I wear many hats, more at some times than others, but life does just have a way of taking over! And it's all ok.
